Vintage oval cabochon ruby pendant set in 18K yellow gold with diamonds (created circa 1985). New chain has been added to this pendant more recently.
"Cabachon" cut is a highly polished, rounded top with no faceting and a flat or slightly domed base. A cabochon may be cut in any shape, though oval is considered the most popular.
