Restoring a ring to honor his grandfather’s legacy

Marco brought in his grandfather’s ring, which needed to be sized down 2.5 sizes. After removing part of the shank I softened the gold by heating it, allowing me to carefully close the gap with a vise. I soldered the seam, sanded the joint, and reshaped it. I also gave the band a natural worn look to honor its history. Now, as Marco wears it, he carries both the ring and his grandfather legacy with him.
