Cutting off stuck rings (part 1)

This 92-year-old customer came in with her platinum wedding set stuck on her severely arthritic finger. She never planned to take them off, but as her knuckles swelled over the years, removing the rings became impossible. Using a ring cutter I carefully cut through the bands and pried them open to free her finger. Now that the rings are off I’ll be reshaping, resizing, and soldering them together for her right hand, where the knuckles aren’t as arthritic. Stay tuned for Part 2 to see the full restoration!
