Removing a stuck ring with dental floss - NO CUTTING!
To remove a stuck ring without cutting it off, a string or a piece of floss works best. I like to use waxed floss as I think it helps grip the finger and the ring. First, put one end under the ring towards the wrist, then with the other end tightly wrap the finger from below the knuckle all the way over the knuckle to compress the swelling as much as possible. Next, pull the wrist side of the floss and unwind it towards the finger tip and the ring will slowly but surely make its way off the finger. Adjust and re-wrap more of the finger as needed until it comes off.
